Certain web data crawlers or scrapers software which are known as extraction tools shouldn't be strangers any more to people with crawling needs. Octoparse, import.io, Mozenda are web-based applications or can be installed in the local desk-top with a user-friendly UI.

I am currently using Octoparse to obtain Twitter data for my EngD research. I use the functionality to automatically open and log into my twitter account and perform a specific search on twitter to get the data that I require.

I am a web developer and I have a project where clients also need core market data to be filled up from sites like Alibaba, Justdial, olx.com, etc. That’s why I use web crawler tools for data retrieval. I finally come to Octoparse with the excellent RegEx tool and XPath tool after searching for those data extractors .

Octoparse is an extremely powerful tool that has optimized and pushed our data scraping efforts to the next level. I would recommend this service to anyone. The price for the value provides a large return on the investment. For the free version, which works great, you can run at least 10 tasks at a time. However, these tasks are ran simultaneously in the background of the computer application. In my opinion buying any of the plans that allow you to use the cloud interface is very helpful and provides a good bit of flexibility. You can close out of the application and know that Octoparse is running on a server somewhere.

There are still a lot of other tutorials I would like to head back to and smooth over to really utilize Octoparse more fully. And also if you are a beginner like me, the step by step tutorial will blow you away. It not only adopts from the traditional sense of tutorial videos or page by page scroll via a table of content. Octoparse literally shows you where to click on button by button within the software. Now to me, that is what I call robust visual learning.

I have tried about 20 web data extraction software incl. online ones and desktop apps. I have stopped at Octoparse as for me it appeared to be the best option.

I have been crawling and parsing websites for a while, with use of php and cUrl. I gave a try to some scraping tools, and my final choice was made to Octoparse. Several reasons for it: Easy to set up, lots of tutorials to start easily...

We are using Octoparse to scrape pages, and we find it extremely powerful. The free tool is good for users that don’t need to use many functions. After some limits you can buy the upgrades. The Wizard mode is simple, the Advanced is a little difficult to use if you are new to it. We would love to use some of the advanced functionality, if they could be “moved” to the simple side (considering that the scraper is intended mostly for non developers ...)

I have been an Octoparse user for a few months now and I am delighted with the application. I am a real estate agent and I navigate many real estate portals to get the phones of people who sell their houses. It takes me many hours before for I have to filter the data that correspond to data professionals who correspond to individuals. With Octoparse I can do this work in a few minutes.
