When to request a template
A request is useful when the gallery does not include your target website, or when an existing template collects different content from what you need. For example, a website may have a template for product details but none for customer reviews. You can also ask about different inputs or additional fields for an existing template. Including its name or link helps the team understand what already works for you and what needs to change. If a template previously collected the right data but has stopped working, this is a troubleshooting issue rather than a request for a new template. What to include
The most useful starting point is a few example pages and a description of the data you want from them.
If relevant, the request can also describe login requirements, the website’s language or region, your preferred run mode, and how you need to receive the data. A sample spreadsheet or screenshot can help show the expected result. Passwords and session cookies should not be included in the request.
How to submit a request
You can send your requirements to support@octoparse.com. The following example shows the level of detail that helps the team review a request:We need to collect customer reviews from [website] for competitor research. We have around 100 product URLs and need the product name, review text, rating, and review date. We plan to collect the data weekly. Here are three example URLs and a sample spreadsheet showing the columns we need.
