What's big data
Big data seems suddenly become the hottest discussion in the Information Age. If you have ever drawn a chart in excel out of a column of data, you have used a little version of "Big Data". Simply that scale is very large. Big data simply means that making sense out of a large volume of knowledge. Literally, "Big Data" is just a lot of data. It is more of a marketing term than anything. Big data could be a cluster of issues and technologies associated with the availability of very giant volumes of data that companies need to connect and understand.
The key parts that create today's big data completely different from yesterday's analytics is that we've got a lot more volume, velocity, variety, variability and complexity of information, which is known as the five Key parts of big data.
About data extraction
"It looked as if someone from every major industry was looking at the impact of being able to glean data from multiple data sources, structured and unstructured, from health care to agriculture and more."(Forbes)
Data extraction service could be one of them. "Data extraction" seems like an abstract and mystery term but actually it isn’t like that. "Data extraction is the act or process of retrieving data out of (usually unstructured or poorly structured) data sources for further data processing or data storage (data migration)."
Data extraction services usually provide data solutions for enterprises or individuals, including data extraction techniques. Data extractors like ours or other software with similar functions mainly deal with data processing and data management. These data extraction software help you grab visual data on webpages and process into structured and easy-to-read files. Data is a big deal, particularly in data-intensive industries, such as e-commerce, finance, healthcare, marketing and etc. Most businesses recognize that their value is owning the end users and the end users’ data.
By gathering competitors’ product information or your customers’ reviews, to arrange promotional campaigns or adjust marketing strategies would be a lot easier.
All these analytic workloads require data extraction to gather large amount of data for analysis use.
"Big data is no longer a buzzword. It’s mainstream, says Gartner. The definition has changed where big is more influenced by data variety and velocity versus volume. When it comes to volume of data, big is relative."
