Overview

Google Search Results turns a small batch of search queries into structured records that can be compared, filtered, and analyzed without copying result pages by hand. Each record preserves the title, snippet, destination, displayed domain, reported position, result type, page number, next-page indicator, and collection date visible in the collected snapshot.

This data is useful wherever search visibility shapes a business decision. It provides a repeatable view of which pages and domains appear for a topic, what language they use in titles and snippets, and how their placement differs across queries. The resulting table is ready for SEO reviews, competitive research, content planning, and changes-over-time comparisons.

Data notes

Records come from publicly visible Google result pages and reflect the layout and content available when the collection runs. A record represents one reported result on one result page; the same destination may appear more than once when multiple queries or result-page features point to it. “Result position” is the position reported within that result page, not a guaranteed global rank across every Google interface. Titles, snippets, result types, and next-page indicators can vary with query wording, region, language, and changes made by Google. Signed-in or personalized results are not covered.

What the results look like

Each record is one Google search result or reported result feature:

The output also includes “Result page,” “More pages available,” and “Collection date.”

Use cases

  • For competitor visibility analysis, group “Result URL” by “Displayed domain” and compare how often each domain appears and where its “Result position” falls.
  • For content research, review “Result title” and “Result snippet” to identify recurring themes, claims, and wording among pages that currently surface for the topic.
  • For SERP composition checks, segment records by “Result type” and “Result page” to see whether the collected results are dominated by organic links or other reported features.
  • For ranking-change reviews, repeat the same query set and compare “Result position” and “Collection date” across snapshots to identify movement.

Scope and boundaries

Each run accepts up to 5 queries and collects up to 5 Google result pages per query; only publicly visible results returned at collection time are covered.

  • Good for
  • Use it when you need a structured snapshot of Google rankings for a small batch of search queries.
  • Use it for SEO research, competitor visibility checks, or identifying pages that dominate a topic.
  • Do not use for
  • Do not use it for personalized or signed-in Google results because it collects public results without an account session.
  • Do not use it when exact result counts must be guaranteed because Google result layouts and availability can vary by query and collection time.

Failure handling

Failure and retry behavior declared by the developer. We recommend including it in your system prompt when integrating.

  1. 1If a run stops before completion, retry the same small input once; if it stops again, reduce the number of queries or pages.
  2. 2An empty result may mean the query returned no public results or Google temporarily limited access; verify the query and retry later.

Integration

This App can be integrated via MCP, API, SDK, or file export. All channels share the same capabilities and pricing. Every request authenticates with the Authorization: Bearer header using an API key (long-lived, created in the Data Hub Console); MCP clients can also sign in with OAuth, no key required. More options such as CLI and Skill are on the way. This App runs asynchronously and can be canceled midway: After you cancel, the run stops. Records already delivered are kept and billed.

With the MCP (Model Context Protocol), you can call this App directly from AI clients like Claude and Cursor. Pick your client and auth mode, then copy the config below.

Client config

Replace the value after Bearer with your long-lived API key. Works in any client, CI, or headless environment.

mcpServers config
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "octoparse_datahub": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp-v2.octoparse.com?pin=YiJacobJohnRaku/google-search-scraper",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>" }
    }
  }
}

Let AI set it up for you

Don't want to edit configs by hand? Copy the install prompt and paste it into any AI client. It will complete the setup its own way. (The prompt asks the AI to request your API key from you, so credentials never end up in chat history or shared configs.)
